A Madisonville Native lands World Record Smallmouth Bass

Last year Jordan Baize landed what some might say impossible. He landed a 28 pounds 9oz bass which is the world record. On May 21, 2018 he set out to do another record on Barkley Lake. He told his longtime fishing partner Benny ” No Neck” Rodriguez that today gonna be a great day. As he came to his first stop he tied on a Lime Green Hula Popper, his favorite bait! He made a few couple of cast and got a few little fish. The next spot is where it got interesting he threw the Lime Green Hula Popper into a Rocky Point and as he was reeling in his lure, there was this giant swirl went in behind his lure! He then set the hook and told “No Neck” to get the net as the fish jumped and jumped! Jordan got scared as fish swim into his net. When he pulled into his Ranger bass boat. He said Oh My God I think I landed the biggest small mouth bass ever! And that’s what he did exactly 27 pounds 5oz. He had it verifed and weighed at a Local Bait Shop in Kuttawa Kentucky. He has now been written Into 2 world records book for holding 2 world records bass in the same state. He said his phone hasn’t quit ringing this morning. The fish has been release back into Barkley lake. Local Bait shops are having a hard time keep the secert bait in stock.
