Fat Tax

Gov. John Kasich is implementing a “fat tax”. Ohio residents will be required to weigh in when they renew their license plates. For every pound a resident is over their ideal weight, a $10.00 tax will be imposed, up to a maximum of $500.00. If you’re overweight 2 years in a row the tax will be doubled; three years tripled. If you fail to pay the tax, a boot will immediately be placed on your car. The boot will stay on the vehicle until the fat tax and the impound fee are paid. If not paid within 30 days, the vehicle will become the property of the State. Gov. Kasich said the revenue raised off of the tax will insure that the retirement fund for State employees remain solvent. Meanwhile, Gov. Kasich signed into law today a ban on all NutriSystem advertising, and a law requiring diet products be removed from all grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants.
