Mr. Majeika’s Art Class

Mr. Majeika was enjoying a rare moment of tranquility during the school holidays. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and not a single spell had gone awry. Beside him, Miss Worlock, who had temporarily set aside her usual mischief, was engrossed in a book of ancient enchantments.

Suddenly, the peace was shattered by the unmistakable sound of Hamish Bigmore’s voice, echoing through the corridors of St Barty’s Primary School. Mr. Potter, the ever-so-serious headmaster, had called an impromptu assembly, and Hamish, as usual, was making a spectacle of himself.

“Settle down, class,” Mr. Potter’s voice boomed. “I have an important announcement. This year, the school will be hosting an inter-magical sports day, and we expect Jody a girl who liked drawing on paper inside said to Mr. Potter’s smile widened as he regarded Jody, the young girl whose love for drawing often filled the margins of her school papers with whimsical sketches. “Jody, your artistic talents will be a splendid addition to our sports day. Perhaps you could help design the banners and decorations?”

Jody’s eyes lit up at the opportunity. “Really, Mr. Potter? I’d love to!” she exclaimed, already imagining the colorful banners that would flutter in the breeze, cheering on the magical competitors.

As the assembly dispersed, Mr. Potter said, “Where’s Hamish?” and Mr. Majeika and Miss Worlock, Thomas said, “He’s probably trying to turn his sneakers into flying boots again. You know how he loves to make an entrance!”

The school brimmed with excitement as everyone began preparations for the sports day. Jody, with her pencils and paints at the ready, set to work on the most enchanting banners St Barty’s had ever seen Mr Jenks who was recovering for mr majeika said to his class
