Joan’s mother noticed her daughter’s longing and decided to surprise her. “Joan,” she said one morning, “how about we go out for tea today? Just you and me.” Joan’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Really, Mum? That would be lovely!”
So, they set off to the tea shop on the bus, chatting about this and that. As they sipped their tea and nibbled on cakes, Joan’s mother leaned in and whispered, “I have another surprise for you.” She handed Joan a small flyer. It was an advertisement for a local animal shelter’s ‘Adopt-a-Pet’ day.
“Would you like to go and just get on the bus home the next day very early in the morning he uncle joe came to stay and he’d got a puppy that Joan wanted he said smiling with it
